Oak Creek Elementary School  – The Olentangy Local Elementary school in the  Lewis Center, Ohio area received the grade of “Excellent with Distinction” on it’s preliminary report card from the Ohio Department of Education last week.

The preliminary report cards of some schools could change. The state is in the midst of an audit of attendance numbers.   Report cards are usually released in August just as students are heading back to school.  Delaware County, Ohio Back to School

The grades / report cards available to Ohio schools from the Ohio Department of Education are:

  • Excellent with Distinction
  • Excellent
  • Effective
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Academic Watch
  • Academic Emergency

Are the A to F grade designations correct? One of the TV news people called the  “Excellent with Distinction” grade an A+ on the 17th when the state released the preliminary report cards.  The next morning the Columbus Dispatch headline online referred to another central Ohio school district’s report card as a “C”  That school district is rated “Continuous Improvement” by the Ohio Department of Education.

Delaware County, Ohio’s school district grades, the Olentangy Local School District received a report card of  ‘Excellent with Distinction’ too.
